#Topaz dejpeg 1.3.1 64 bit install
There has to be something wrong with RAM and pagefile management in the new version, somehow the install was corrupted, or something else wicked is going on with my system. That temp file does increase in size when I do things like duplicate layers, but still may only get to about 5 GB max! Nothing like the runaway train I am seeing on my PC. The RAM is used up pretty quick, and a temp file is created at about 2 GB. I tried the same testing method on a different PC, one that only has 8 GB of RAM and uses a 140 GB HDD as a scratch disk. It's like the memory that is being allocated for a task is just being rewritten over and over, and since Photoshop won't release these allocations until the program is closed, all sources of memory in my case are exhausted in a short time! These must be limited to 67 GB, because once that size was reached, a new temp file is created and promptly filled to capacity. Next, temp files began on scratch disk one. First off, over the course of a few minutes, RAM was to capacity. I kept the performance tab of the task manager and the file manager with each of the scratch disks opened on a separate screen.

I then began randomly using memory intensive tools like the patch tool and content aware filling in random areas. I opened an image and sized it to 24x36 300dpi and duplicated the layer a few times just to increase the file size substantially. Here is how I tested the issue this morning. I also have 2 250 GB SSD drives installed that are specifically reserved for scratch disk for Adobe products.

The PC I use has 64 GB of RAM, 80% of which is allotted for Photoshop use per the preferences. There is definitely an issue that began immediately after the 2017.1 update.
